His Christmas Rose: The Rockliffe Dynasty Book 4 Kindle Edition

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 33 ratings

Christmas is coming, yet Lady Emily Prescott feels anything but merry

Despite being surrounded by a loving family, along with a dashing suitor who promises her a Christmastide to remember, Emily can’t shake her worry that something is missing. Perhaps because her heart doesn’t flutter the way it did long ago—before her girlish adoration for the boy next door was crushed by his careless rejection.

Newly home from his grand tour with a debilitating injury and more regrets than he can count, Nathaniel Pembrook devotes all his attention to upholding tradition and hosting his family’s famed St. Stephen’s Day party. That is, until a snowstorm traps Lady Emily Prescott at his estate—leaving him face-to-face not with the girl he once brushed aside but with the captivating woman he cannot ignore.

While the storm rages beyond the windows, the fire inside draws Emily and Nate together, forcing them to confront old hurts and an attraction they can no longer deny. But with Emily’s possible betrothal looming, will their passion only last until the snow stops? Or is their Christmas encounter the start of a love that’s destined to bloom?

His Christmas Rose is a steamy novella-length regency romance with a guaranteed happily ever after. It is book 4 in The Rockliffe Dynasty series but can also be enjoyed as a standalone.

His Christmas Rose, the fourth book in The Rockliffe Dynasty series, can easily be enjoyed as a standalone. Though I haven’t read the earlier books, I had no trouble following the story. In fact, this delightful tale has convinced me to dive into the rest of the series to learn more about the other characters introduced here.

I loved this forced-proximity romance. Emily once had a crush on her neighbor, Nate—until she overheard him dismiss her as a “sickly child.” Deeply hurt, she has avoided him ever since.

Seven years later, Nate returns, and their paths cross unexpectedly. When bad weather strands Emily at his home, she is forced to confront the attraction she’s tried to bury—and the pain he caused so long ago.

As the storm rages outside, Emily and Nate are drawn closer together, sharing secrets and confronting old wounds. But with Emily’s potential betrothal looming, their newfound connection feels as fragile as the snow around them. Will this Christmas encounter lead to the lasting love they both deserve, or will misunderstandings and missed chances keep them apart?

This story offers a heartwarming blend of tropes, from forced proximity and childhood crush to a touch of enemies-to-lovers. Nate finds himself falling for the strong, capable woman Emily has become, while Emily fights to see past the boy who once hurt her. Their journey toward healing and love is tender, emotional, and even a little spicy.

The arrival of Emily’s intended fiancé raises the stakes, forcing Nate to choose whether to wallow in guilt over his past mistakes or fight for the future he wants with her.

Beautifully written, this is a story about second chances, personal growth, and finding true love. With touches of humor, a bit of angst, and a few twists to keep things interesting, I was thoroughly entertained. The characters were compelling, the romance heartfelt, and the plot captivating. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait to read more from this series.

I received an advance reader copy from the author and am voluntarily sharing my honest review.

This was a sweet novella that was about a childhood love that never ended. Emily was in love with the boy next door who thought of her as a kid. When he saw the grown woman she had his opinion changed, but she was too hurt and angry to receive his feelings. The story had good characters with depth and childhood issues. Both were likable although she was annoying at first. If you like a steamy romance with a frenemy to lover trope that also touches on second chances, this may be the book for you.

This is a Christmas-themed romance featuring Nate and Emily. The story does work as a stand-alone but you may wish to read the series in order because the older characters have supporting roles.
Nate and Emily knew each other as children but she unfortunately overheard a conversation that gave her an unfavorable impression of him. Now, years later, the couple finds themselves snowed in trying to prepare for the St. Stephen's Day celebration.
Ultimately, Nate and Emily share their true feelings and get the HEA that they deserve. An enjoyable quick read.
I received a free ARC from the author and this is my honest review.

Emily is snowed in with her childhood nemesis, Nate. Will they end up revelaing old truths? Healing old wounds? Engaging in sexy tabletop encounters? (Yes.)

This is a great holiday novella. Everything revolves around Nate trying to make sure that the St. Stephen's Day Feast is all set up and ready to go, while simultaneously being completely distracted by Emily's close proximity. We loved the unabashed holiday spirit AND how it resulted in sleeping by the fire surrounded by Christmas decorations all night long.

This objective review is based on a complimentary copy of the novella.

Young Lady Emily has been in love with Nathaniel Pembrook, her neighbour and friend for as long as she can remember, but he hardly notices her except on one snowstorm day....
I would love to say more, but then the potential readers might just get upset with me for spoiling this lovely Chrismas story them.
I loved how sensual this tale is. It lets us know that these two fabulous characters are becoming aware of the love which changes their relationship and especially how they act around each other and I was really pleased at the outcome.
A perfect Christmas love story which I enjoyed ever so much.
I read an early copy of this book and am happy to leave my voluntary review of it.

Sweet passionate romance of Nate and Emily. Emily has been in love with Nate since childhood. But, now she is engaged to someone else. To Nate she was just the girl next door until he comes home and notices her. They get snowed in together and the rest is history. A very good read with plot twists.

Short, sweet, lots of desire which made this a passionate story that is quite fan worthy
I enjoyed both Emily (fisty gal) and the handsome yet bumbly, Nate (my favorite) as the story moved at a fast pace with a few interesting disclosures that added a bit of dimension to this sizzling romance story.
A shout out to the wise grandma for her helpful input.
Everything ends with much happiness and a heartfelt letter topped off the ending perfectly.
    Mature Advisory:🔥🔥🔥
🙋‍♀️I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy for my honest thoughts and opinion.

This novella following The Marquess Returns is a look into Nicholas and Phoebe’s life as well as his daughter Emily’s. Part secret crush and part instalove, this story is well written with steam and a tiny bit of angst. I really enjoyed reading this book.
