Starting as 'Onegai 2', it's supposed to be like Onegai Teacher - but surprisingly it isn't. More comedy, a lot more ecchi, but surprisingly less mature drama.
The animation is like in Onegai Teacher, just wonderful. The colors, the landscapes, they all look as if it's a dream - or perhaps a painting which captures your eye. Excellent done, very detailed and even the characters are wonderfully animated, without any visible flaws except some 'subtle censorship' (no nipples showing, shadows when there might be a visible breast).
The only minor drawback was the degenerating fantasy-thoughts, where they use southpark-like (not exactly, but at least similarly lame animated), which really made me feel bad after seeing such beautiful colors and things. The major drawback here is that it isn't even funny at all, which made me wonder why they used it at all.
Also, they used a lot more 'comedy'-faces, which don't really seem appropriate for a series with such an overwhelming beauty.
The music is again from I've/Kotoko, which is almost a guarantee for good music. Again they don't disappoint, although I have to say that I liked their music in Onegai Teacher more.
The voices don't disappoint either. Again the voices fit the characters very well and also the BGM is very nice. The only voice I can recall was annoying, was the voice of the sister of the sickenly lovey-dovey guy. In the end, both the music and the voices blend in perfectly with the story and the animation, which gives them a perfect ranking, if I didn't believe the music from OT was made a little better.
The story was good, and although there was sometimes too much ecchi/fanservice than necessary, it added a lot to the comedy of this series. It is supposed to be a tad more serious topic, but due to the comedy and the ecchiness/fanservice all around, the topic didn't get as serious as I hoped.
Also, due to some characters, the story didn't really evolve well enough to get everything out of it. So was the brother/sister relationship of their classmate (the one from Onegai Teacher who wanted to see aliens) very disturbing since it wasn't only stupid, but also really annoying.
Then again, the input of the class vice-president and the popular friend from the main character, make up for a lot of good subplots.
What annoying was, was how they tend to repeat all the time how bad it was to be family or exactly the opposite. Even though it was the main topic, it became a bit annoying when they used it too many times in such a short time.
When looking at the characters there are a few which were plainly annoying (that sickenly loving brother and his annoying ignorant sister), but there were also a few characters which added a lot to this series. As mentioned before, the vice-president and that friend of the main character were really nice characters to have in this series, while the president, Morino, got involved in a completely different way. Although there are people who complain about her change of attitude in this series according to Onegai Teacher, I didn't think it was bad. I can imagine that she has such a character; after all she's experienced in Onegai Teacher, and she does add a lot of comedy to the series.
The only thing which disappointed me was that there was never an explanation about Mizuho and Kei being married, nor was there any conversation between them, as if they couldn't convince the voiceactor for Kei to team up for this series.
I certainly will rewatch this series, since it is just too beautiful, good and nice to not rewatch. And since I am such an 'Onegai'-fan, I'll probably rewatch it a few times more ^^
If you liked Onegai Teacher, you might like this one as well. The only thing you have to remember is that Onegai Twins is hardly related to Onegai Teacher with some exceptions. But overall, a good watch which won't really disappoint you.
