found out recently that R2 is not the vision of the producer: (link: http://trainwreck.ggkthx.org/2008/08/19/taniguchi-on-geass-not-as-planned/)
Although that gives me some hope that this series could have been better, and was not planned like this from the start, it is a LAME excuse.

I dont really understand all the fuss about his comment. The show is great and only because it was the vision of the director does not neccassarily mean it would have been better that way. Maybe for people more interested in romance etc. but surely not for those interested in epicness

It's hard to pinpoint what I don't like about the character design - I'm not saying that it is bad, it's just that it could have added a lot more to the feel of the series, and it seems to fall short.
Come to think of it, it's more than the character design. The way some scenes play out - mostly the character movements - just make me shudder because they don't feel natural, usually because they're way too theatrical. From the top of my head, Lelouch's pose at the end of the current OP (when he throws his hand up) is a once-a-week (or so) reminder of how great gg is for marking chapters, so I can skip the OP altoguether.
vouch
Although, I must admit, 21 ep was good, I especialy liked the music
There was some awful filler in the early part of the series, but the latest twists and surprises made this series grow on me and earned itself a whole 1.0 more on my rating. I won't go as far as to give it a 10... I'm not going to forgive them making me watch the awful high school festivities part.
All the people that says Code Geass sux & boring are hypocritical retards!
Don't believe them.. this is the best anime of 2008 yet! Those emos are just
trying to look smart over criticizing this great series... coz they severely lack
attention...
It sux? Boring? Have better things to do? Heck, why are you posting a comment
here then... just disappear already!
At allmost every series there are ppl who find something the whine about and this series has no exceptions. This show is one that reminded me of the time that evrey new episode of a anime was new and refreshing. Now days i can see the ending of a anime from the first episode put this anime is so good that i didn't have any idea how was it going to end..... The music is very good and the graphic is pleasent to the eye. The story is so complex that u don't know what will happen in the next episode. In my book this is one of the best anime series( and i have wached a lot for about 4 years around 48 hours a week or more) .
Code Geass is probably one of the best animes ever made. The story is great, the twists in the plot makes you watch more, and the characters are well made. The music flows nicely with the story and the voice actors are great.
Probably for some Code Geass is a fan-service anime. For some it's gay. For some it's just mecha. For some it's just character design and animation. If you watch Code Geass just for those before mentioned, then you obviously failed in understanding the meaning of this anime. And yeah, stop comparing Death Note with Code Geass. The difference between the 2 animes is too great. Lelouch actually changes the world. Light failed to do so.
Just watched the ending. It's rare and I really do mean RARE for anything in life to bring a tear to my eyes and this show did. Although I more or less guessed the ending, the execution was just so flawless it left me speechless.
This is the kind of anime you just HAVE to watch. Unfortunately, to truly understand this anime requires a certain maturity and understanding level that many people have not yet achieved and thus the true meaning behind the story will probably evade them...
The show is a masterpiece, and I am truly grateful they actually "concluded" it rather than leaving one of those annoying open ends. With that said, I still have the secret hope that in some way the story continues...
My take is that Lelouch is alive.
The most obvious reason would be CC calling to Lelouch in theclosing scene of the episode. As we can assume CC to be still sane, shemust be talking to someone, and that someone would most probably be thedriver of the cart: Lelouch would have to be alive.
Second, however, and this is where the others have thought thingsthrough, Lelouch is alive because he got his dad’s code. He beckonedthe World of C to lend him its powers, and he took Charles’s codebefore Charles passed on. The reason why Lelouch still has his Geass isbecause he didn’t take the Code from the same person who gave him hisGeass: he took his Geass from CC, and he took his Code from Charles. Thus, he now possesses both immortality and a Geass. This is also areason that the title is Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.
To further corroborate this, however, remember that when Nunnallyheld Lelouch’s hand he transferred his memories to her. CC also did itwhen Lelouch touched her accidentally back then, so it could be assumedthat people with Codes are indeliberate telepaths. This leaves us withboth immortals traversing the world for the rest of eternity.
It’s a great end, friends. P.S. Ending line of CC translated by bibi: “Geass is the power of kings, it will isolate you… well, I guess thats a little wrong… eh, Lelouch” P.P.S. Additional evidence, courtesy of 'Nergal and 4chan:
1. Charles grabbed Lelouch with his right hand, which had the Geass sigil.
2. Lelouch needed the fully evolved Geass to transfer a code.
3. The code doesn’t appear to activate until someone dies. Hence, whyC.C. was wounded when she first inherited her code. Same happened withCharles in the World of C.
4. When Lelouch touched Nunnally, Nunnally got a flash of his memories. This ONLY happens when a high potential Geass user touches someone withthe fully evolved Geass.
5. The title of the series is “R2″, which is similar to how “C.C” ispronounced. So Lelouch would be “R.R.” which is Engrish (I presume) forL.L., Lelouch Lamprouge.
6. When C.C. is talking on the wagon, she says “the power of Geassbrings loneliness…that’s not quite right is it, Lelouch?” and nods herhead in the direction of the wagon driver. P.P.P.S More evidence, courtesy of an intelligent anon from 4chan:
Orange knew of Lelouche’s and Suzaku’s plan and helped them out byordering his men not to fire on Zero, he even smiled when Zerozakujumped on his shoulder.
Now would Orange, a man who devoted himself entirely to Lelouche andthrew away everything without a second thought be OK with a plan wherethe sole person he wants to protect in life is actually killed? Theanswer to that is NO, not even if Lelouche ordered him to accept theplan: he would not go along with it and would protect him with hislife. There is only one way that Orange would be OK with a plan likethat and thats if he knew about Lelouche’s immortality, which I assumehe did as he worked with V.V. in the Geass research base. Orange was OKwith this plan as he knew Lelouche would come to no harm and would beable to start a new peaceful life with the woman he loves in a worldwhich he himself had made peaceful.
Even at the end, we see Orange on his orange plantation, completelycontent with the way things have panned out, he definitely could not bethat happy had Lelouche actually died.
There it is, firm evidence of Lelouche’s immortality if the scene with C.C. and the cart driver wasn’t painfully obvious enough.
What are you thinking about this swan from origami? This wasn't done by Nunnally? If it was, then why and from where C.C. has this? I my opinion that swan was done by Nunnally for Lelouchu, because they meet after assassin. And of course Lelouchu is sitting in front of wagon, it is too obvious .
PS. sorry for my english
