Bali, Ubud shopping tip: Naturally, bargaining is essential. At one point, I ran out of local currency. That’s when I got a knit-blouse for 1/3rd the quoted price, making me feel like a fool for the rest of the deals.  So bargain hard, but if you haven’t worry not. Those purchases are a steal any which way.

Trivia: Most of the goods here are made locally, in neighboring villages. This market is more upscale than Goa Gajah and almost a kilometer long. Snake your way through hundreds of tourists that thong this lane.

Tegallalang is the place for wood sculpture, wood cravings and other Balinese artifacts, all available at wholesale prices. You’ll find plenty of shops around here, housing art pieces done up by skilled local artisans and sculptors. It’s fun to browse through such a vast collection of artsy stuff.
