iOS 18 brings you more ways than ever to customize your iPhone. Here are some ways to make the most of the new and existing features.
Try a new look for app icons and widgets
Give app icons and widgets a light or dark look—or even a monochromatic tint—and tie that to a specific Focus filter or wallpaper. You can also make app icons larger (and remove the app name below) for a bold, minimalist look. Check it out with these apps—their icons look great in the new hues.
Personalize your Home Screen
Now you can arrange apps and widgets in any open space on the Home Screen. Place your Notes app right above the Dock for easy access, or keep faces in your wallpaper clear of icons.
Take control of your controls
Swap out the controls at the bottom of your Lock Screen for super-quick access to the actions you need most—whether taking a note when an idea strikes, starting a meditation, or capturing the moment for social media. In the redesigned Control Center, you can now resize icons, group them as you like, and customize the layout.
Take action with just a tap
Get more done with interactive widgets on your Home Screen and Lock Screen and in StandBy. Mark a task as complete, play or pause a song or podcast, or access your Home controls.
See key info from a distance with StandBy
With StandBy, get glanceable information when your iPhone is on its side and charging. View widgets, photos, and even Live Activities from apps while saving battery life.
Customize your Lock Screen
Add Lock Screen widgets to see information from your favorite apps at a glance. Plus, play with fonts, wallpapers, and photos to build the perfect personalized layout.
Find your focus
Reduce distractions by customizing your Focus filters, like Work, Personal, Sleep, or your own custom Focus. Link a Focus to your Lock Screen or Home Screen to see only the apps and widgets relevant to that task while you’re concentrating. Here are a few apps that can adapt their content to your current Focus.
