Description

The altarpiece from 1758 was, according to tradition, painted by the German born Gottfried Ezekiel or one of the painters that worked with him. The bold broken pediment and the semicircular pilasters between the central and side panels have strongly contrasting marbling.

The altarpiece consists of several pictures. The central panel depicts the crucifixion. The right hand side panel shows John the Baptist (the eagle by his feet) and the left side panel shows Moses holding the tablet with the ten commandments. The resurrection is depicted on the pediment and on the predella the last supper. The altarpiece was a gift to the church from Anders Brønlund and his wife.
