Our 1st team are continuing their nomadic existence with a move to The Mayfield Stadium, after some wonderful years at The Wibbandune Sports Ground (home of Colliers Wood Utd).
Obviously huge thanks to Tony and his team at The Wibb, we have some great memories and some big results in the archive from our time there. It will be the dream to one day walk to our home matches from Balham station, where we will have the full support of the local community we serve at our 1st team home matches but that is some way off at the moment.
We have found a new ground a little closer to home, at AFC Croydon Athletic FC - The ground is The Mayfield Stadium.
Balham chairman Greg (right) met with Paul (left) over Zoom (it's how meetings have to be done these days) to put pen to paper on a new ground share agreement with AFC Croydon Athletic.
“Everyone at Balham FC is very excited about the new two year groundshare agreement signed with AFC Croydon Athletic. We look forward to our First team and Youth team playing at The Mayfield Stadium once the new season starts. We’d like to thank Colliers Wood Utd for being excellent landlords at The Wibbandune but our tenants v landlords derby in 2020/21 will be The Blazers v The Rams. Whilst we will be competitors on the pitch we look forward to forging a close working relationship off it with everyone at AFC Croydon Athletic, a club we greatly admire. We also hope that we’ll attract good support at the ground which is easier for those from Balham to get to. ” Greg Cruttwell, Balham FC Chairman.
AFC Croydon Athletic has a more modern set up than we have been used to and is a full enclosed stadium with a large grandstand and covered standing areas as well as a fully licenced bar, food kiosk as well for matchdays
We will also be using some of the pitches outside the stadium for youth and junior matches, meaning we have more opportunities for juniors and 1st team players to watch each others matches! Which will be great for the club community.

We will be looking for more volunteers on matchdays to help run things behind the scenes. More details will be shared later on. For now stay healthy, keep fit and enjoy what you can of the summer.
