Paul George’s first signature shoe with Nike, the PG 1, made its debut in September 2016, a long wait for a star player who had already played six seasons in the league. The PG 1 quickly became one of the most popular shoes in the NBA. His second signature shoe, the PG 2, released in February 2018 with George on the Oklahoma City Thunder, introduced a radical redesign for the star two-way player. He followed that up with the PG 2.5, which brought the beloved midfoot strap back.
While both the 2 and 2.5 were wildly popular among NBA players, the PG 3 was less of a hit, despite its overall solid performance reviews and appealing aesthetic.
George then moved on to the PG 4, 5 and 6, which were considered relativelely underwhelming redesigns. Now that the signature line has come to an end, George is known for mixing it up and digging into his back catalogue of colorways on a nighty basis.
