Montana Justice Courts
The Montana Justice Courts are Courts of Limited Jurisdiction in Montana that preside over general civil claims with disputes of $7000 or less. These Courts cannot hear disputes over title to real estate and certain claims against the State. Each Justice Court has a Small Claims Court division that handles most general civil claims with disputes of $3000 or less.[1] There are 66 Justice Courts in the State.[2]
