Taxation
In November 2012, Miller received criticism from some state and national organizations over the issue of tax cuts. A study by the Tax Foundation found that Oklahoma ranked as the leader in spending growth over a 10-year period. Miller attributed the increase to federal dollars, rather than state spending. The issue over increased spending came at a time when Governor of Oklahoma Mary Fallin (R) was contemplating whether to expand Medicaid in accordance with the Affordable Care Act. Miller said, "Those who paint current officeholders as the biggest spenders in state history are being disingenuous."[2]
