- Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2023I ordered this to replace a public library book that was damaged when I borrowed it. The new book was listed as Good, and it is even better, almost new. I think the library will appreciate having a new copy because I enjoy Robin Cook novels and this will give it a longer life. Timely delivery and good packaging too! Thank you.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2021Robin Cook invented the medical thriller and gives us many medical facts and skilled descriptions. His book Vital Signs gives us the unsuspected sufferings of couples attempting to have a child in spite of damaged reproductive systems. The procedures involved are painful in many ways, and are described in ways that allow readers to sympathize ...there is the additional mystery for Dr. Blumenthal to solve, which is who benefits from the couples' damage, and who is causing the damaged reproductive systems? I wish Vital Signs had been divided into 2 books, and this one had been stopped about halfway, with a sequel (book 3) showing the hell-bent-for-leather rush towards a Dr.Blumenthal solution
- Reviewed in the United States on September 22, 2012As usual, I enjoy reading Robin Cook's books, especially on my Kindle. Sometimes his books are nerveracking. This one was interesting without being too nervewracking. It had a pleasant ending.
I agree with Cook's take on the current health care issues.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 4, 2023I flew through the first half of the book, totally sucked in at the first page. The second half however, twisted and turned for too long before getting to the conclusion
- Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2014All Robin cook books are very exciting, entertaining to read no matter what time of the day you have no time to put the book down. He's the master of medical thriller, suspense all the way......
- Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2020I enjoyed Cook's Outbreak so I was happy to read the sequel. The plot gets a little crazy at points and it's dated (they call the operator to find out the time in Australia) but I am glad I got to read it. I ordered a used copy in good condition and I was very pleased with it.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2016Robin Cook is my favorite author. I've read all of his books, some a second time. I was hooked when I read The Intern.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 20, 2013Because I think that this is a great book! & I would highly recommend this book to my family & friends.

4.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing
No one can cook better medical thrillers than Robin Cook! Apart from the story, the details of each location is mesmerizing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great holiday read
Enjoyed this immensely, a medical thriller which leaps along full of page-turning happenings. A classic beach or country cottage read, which also raises questions - how far has the guy stretched reality? No great character development, but that's not the job of the thriller writer. Would recommend it.
