- Open the Messages app on your iPhone.
- Tap on the Compose icon from the top-right corner.
- Tap on the “+” icon available in the To section. It will bring up your contact list.
- Select the contacts you wish to add to the group.
- You can now send a message to the group.
- To change the group name and icon, simply tap on the group, choose the “Change Name and Photo” option, and make the changes.

Create a Poll in iMessage Group Chat
Once you’ve created the group, doing a poll in the iMessage group chat is pretty simple. For this, you need to install a third-party app called “Polls for iMessage”. The best thing about using this app is that voting is enabled for the group members without having to download the app. Also, universal polls are supported across all devices. Follow the below steps to do a poll in iMessage:
- Open the Messages app and head over to a group chat.
- Tap on the “+” icon from the bottom-left and select App Store from the list.
- Search for and install “Polls for iMessage” (download for free).
- Once the app is downloaded, close the App Store and return to the group chat.
- Again, tap on the “+” icon from the bottom-left and you’ll see the new Polls option.
- Tap on Polls and then hit the Get Started button.
- Next, create a poll title and hit the Next button.
- Next up, tap on Add Options and start typing your first option. To add another option, tap on Create Another. After you’ve added all the options, hit the Done button.
- To customize the poll settings, tap on the Settings icon from the bottom right. For instance, you may allow/disallow everyone to check who voted for each option or allow/disallow multiple votes.
- Once you’ve created the poll, tap on Send Poll to send it to your group chat and let your friends vote for it.
