Matthew 16:1-4 - The Signs Of The Times

¹ And the Pharisees and Sadducees came to tempt him, and asked him to show them a sign from heaven.

² But he answered and said to them: When it is evening, you say, Fair weather; for the sky is red. ³ And in the morning, A storm to-day; for the sky is red and lowering. Hypocrites! you know how to judge of the face of the sky; but you can not judge of the signs of the times. ⁴ A wicked and adulterous generation seeks for a sign: and no sign shall be given it but the sign of Jonah the prophet. And he left them and departed.

⁵⁴ And he said also to the multitudes: When you see the cloud rising from the west, you immediately say, There comes a shower: and so it is. ⁵⁵ And when the south wind blows, you say, There will be heat: and it comes to pass. ⁵⁶ Hypocrites, you know how to judge of the face of the earth, and of the heavens; but how is it that you do not judge of this time?
