A son of Abraham and Keturah, Ge 25:2; 1Ch 1:32. The tribe represented by this name may perhaps be the Suchu of the cuneiform inscriptions, on the right bank of the Euphrates. Bildad the Shuhite (Job 2:11; 8:1; 18:1; 25:1; 42:9) is prob. intended to be thought of as belonging to this tribe.
