21 Bible Verses about Being Without Understanding

For this reason I speak to them in parables; because when they see, they see not; and when they hear, they hear not, nor do they understand.

And in them is fulfilled the prophesy of Isaiah, which says: You shall surely hear, and you will not understand; and you shall surely see, and you will not perceive.

that they may surely see, and not perceive; and that they may surely hear, and not understand; lest they should turn to me, and their sins should be forgiven them.

saying: Go to this people and say, You shall surely hear, but you will not understand; and you shall surely see, but you will not perceive.

He replied: To you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that when they see, they may not see, and when they hear, they may not understand.

For the heart of this people has become fat; and with their ears they hear heavily; and their eyes they have closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should turn to me, and I should give them health.

Jesus replied: Are you also yet without understanding?

And he said to them: Are you also so void of understanding? Do you not perceive that nothing from without, by entering into a man, can defile him?

And Jesus perceived it, and said to them: Why do you reason, because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive, nor understand? Is your heart still hardened?

Therefore they said: "What is this that he says, The little while? We know not what he says.

the depth of the riches, both of the wisdom and of the knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

For we do not presume to rank or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves: but they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves with them selves, have no understanding.

there is none that understands; there is none that seeks after God;

darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;

Of him we have many things to say, and difficult to be explained, if we do say them, since you are slow in understanding.

Having eyes, do you not see? and having ears, do you not hear? and do you not remember?

And he said to them: How is it that you do not understand?

Jesus answered and said to him: Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not understand these things?

desiring to be teachers of law, though under standing neither what they say nor of what they boldly affirm.
