When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men have loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
But if thy eye be evil, thy whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee is darkness, how great is that darkness!
The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thy eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thy eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.

Have respect to the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.
