When they were full, He told His disciples, “Collect the leftovers so that nothing is wasted.”
Let them gather all the excess food during these good years that are coming. Under Pharaoh’s authority, store the grain in the cities, so they may preserve it as food.
The food will be a reserve for the land during the seven years of famine that will take place in the land of Egypt. Then the country will not be wiped out by the famine.”
Precious treasure and oil are in the dwelling of a wise person,

Just now, I am gathering a couple of sticks in order to go prepare it for myself and my son so we can eat it and die.” read more.
Then Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid; go and do as you have said. But first make me a small loaf from it and bring it out to me. Afterward, you may make some for yourself and your son,
A lazy man doesn’t roast his game,
but to a diligent man, his wealth is precious.
A good man leaves an inheritance to his grandchildren,
but the sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous.
The one who loves pleasure will become a poor man;
whoever loves wine and oil will not get rich.
A sensible person sees danger and takes cover,
but the inexperienced keep going and are punished.
Don’t associate with those who drink too much wine
or with those who gorge themselves on meat.
For the drunkard and the glutton will become poor,
and grogginess will clothe them in rags.
Everyone ate and was filled. Then they picked up 12 baskets full of leftover pieces!
They all ate and were filled. Then they collected the leftover pieces—seven large baskets full.
But she replied to Him, “Lord, even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”
But some were expressing indignation to one another: “Why has this fragrant oil been wasted?
For this oil might have been sold for more than 300 denarii and given to the poor.” And they began to scold her.
The thief must no longer steal. Instead, he must do honest work with his own hands, so that he has something to share with anyone in need.
Wealth obtained by fraud will dwindle,
but whoever earns it through labor will multiply it.

Joseph gathered all the [excess] food in the land of Egypt during the seven years and placed it in the cities. He placed the food in every city from the fields around it. So Joseph stored up grain in such abundance-like the sand of the sea-that he stopped measuring it because it was beyond measure.
Then the seven years of abundance in the land of Egypt came to an end, and the seven years of famine began, just as Joseph had said. There was famine in every country, but throughout the land of Egypt there was food.

So the Israelites did this. Some gathered a lot, some a little. When they measured it by quarts, the person who gathered a lot had no surplus, and the person who gathered a little had no shortage. Each gathered as much as he needed to eat.
On the sixth day they gathered twice as much food, four quarts apiece, and all the leaders of the community came and reported [this] to Moses. He told them, "This is what the Lord has said: 'Tomorrow is a day of complete rest, a holy Sabbath to the Lord. Bake what you want to bake, and boil what you want to boil, and everything left over set aside to be kept until morning.' " So they set it aside until morning as Moses commanded, and it didn't smell or have any maggots in it.
