And Jehovah said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: am I my brother's keeper?

And his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren; and they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.

Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; Thou slanderest thine own mother's son.

For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee; even they have cried aloud after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee.

Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Edom, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:

If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, that is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; of the gods of the peoples that are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth; thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:read more.
but thou shalt surely kill him; thy hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. And thou shalt stone him to death with stones, because he hath sought to draw thee away from Jehovah thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and the father his child: and children shall rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.

All the brethren of the poor do hate him: How much more do his friends go far from him! He pursueth them with words, but they are gone.

A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city; And'such contentions are like the bars of a castle.

And Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

If any man cometh unto me, and hateth not his own father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

A false witness that uttereth lies, And he that soweth discord among brethren.
