Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears to him that was able to save him from death, and was heard, in that he feared;

Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,

And when he had sent the multitudes away, he ascended a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.

And when he had dismissed them, he departed to a mountain to pray.

And it came to pass in those days, that he went out to a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

And in the morning, rising a great while before day, he went out and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.

And it came to pass, as he was in retirement praying, his disciples were with him; and he asked them, saying, Who say the people that I am?

Then cometh Jesus with them to a place called Gethsemane, and saith to the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go yonder and pray.

And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.

He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.

And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.

And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, If it were possible, the hour might pass from him.

And again he went away, and prayed, and spoke the same words.

And it came to pass, that as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said to him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.

And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and broke, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

Then were brought to him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.

Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he will presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them whom thou hast given to me; for they are thine.

Neither pray I for these alone; but for them also who shall believe on me through their word.

But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not; and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

Therefore I will divide to him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul to death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come to God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

At that day ye will ask in my name: and I say not to you, that I will pray the Father for you:

These words spoke Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thy ownself, with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. I have manifested thy name to the men whom thou gavest to me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them to me; and they have kept thy word. Now they have known that all things whatever thou hast given me are from thee. For I have given to them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them whom thou hast given to me; for they are thine. And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thy own name those whom thou hast given to me, that they may be one, as we are. And now I come to thee, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves. I have given to them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldst take them out of the world, but that thou shouldst keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also may be sanctified through the truth. Neither pray I for these alone; but for them also who shall believe on me through their word. That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest to me, I have given to them; that they may be one, even as we are one. I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them as thou hast loved me. Father, I will that they also whom thou hast given to me be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory which thou hast given to me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

But I know that even now, whatever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.

Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, or rather that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
