And the rib, which LORD God had taken from the man, he made a woman, and brought her to the man. And the man said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cling to his wife, and {the two (LXX/NT)} shall be one flesh.

Or know ye not that he who is joined to a harlot is one body? For, The two, he says, will be in one flesh.

So ought the husbands to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as also Christ the church,

And God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them.

Thou shall not commit adultery.

Or know ye not that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not led astray. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate men, nor homosexuals,

The wife has not the right of her private body, but the husband, and likewise also the husband has not the right of his private body, but the wife.

Thou shall not lay with mankind, as with womankind. It is abomination.

Separate from this a man will leave his father and mother behind, and will be bonded with his wife, and the two will be in one flesh. This mystery is great, but I speak for Christ and for the church.
