And he opened the bottomless pit, and there arose the smoke of a great furnace. And the sun and the air were darkened by the reason of the smoke of the pit.

He brought me out of the horrible pit, out of the mire and clay; he set my feet upon the rock, and ordered my goings.

"If a man open a well or dig a pit and cover it not, but that an ox or an ass fall therein,

And the manner was to bring the flocks thither, and to roll the stone from the well's mouth and to water the sheep, and to put the stone again upon the well's mouth unto his place.

Then said Joshua, "Open the mouth of the cave, and bring out these five kings unto me out of the cave."

And Jesus said, "Take ye away the stone." Martha, the sister of him that was dead, said unto him, "Lord by this time he stinketh. For he hath been dead four days." Jesus said unto her, "Said I not unto thee, that if thou didst believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?" Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lift up his eyes and said, "father I thank thee, because that thou hast heard me;

The morrow after the Sabbath day, first of Sabbaths, came Mary Magdalene early when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and saw the stone taken away from the tomb.

And they said one to another, "Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?" And when they looked, they saw how the stone was rolled away. For it was a very great one,

And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre,

and the stones did rent, and graves did open, and the bodies of many saints which slept, arose:
