10 Bible Verses about The Rich Lording It

Yet you dishonored that poor man. Don’t the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts?

The poor man pleads,
but the rich one answers roughly.

The rich rule over the poor,
and the borrower is a slave to the lender.

A poor man is hated even by his neighbor,
but there are many who love the rich.

For example, a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and dressed in fine clothes, and a poor man dressed in dirty clothes also comes in.

Do not curse the king even in your thoughts,
and do not curse a rich person even in your bedroom,
for a bird of the sky may carry the message,
and a winged creature may report the matter.

There were two men in a certain city, one rich and the other poor. The rich man had a large number of sheep and cattle, but the poor man had nothing except one small ewe lamb that he had bought. Now a traveler came to the rich man, but the rich man could not bring himself to take one of his own sheep or cattle to prepare for the traveler who had come to him. Instead, he took the poor man’s lamb and prepared it for his guest.

the tongues in their mouths are deceitful.

God is not partial to princes
and does not favor the rich over the poor,
for they are all the work of His hands.
