And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.

And they answered, John the Baptist: but some say, Elijah; and others, One of the prophets,

Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him: and he was perplexed, because that it was said by some, that John had risen from the dead; And by some, that Elijah had appeared; and by others, that one of the ancient prophets had risen again.

They answering, said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah; and others say, that one of the ancient prophets is risen again.

And said to his servants, This is John the Baptist; he hath risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do show forth themselves in him.

And king Herod heard of him (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist had risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do show forth themselves in him.

And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.

Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Judas, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?

And all bore him testimony, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?

And they said, Is not this Jesus the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?

Then Jesus came forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith to them, Behold the man!

Others said, That it is Elijah. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.

Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus performed, said, This is truly that prophet that should come into the world.

All things are delivered to me by my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.

Jesus answered and said to her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldst have asked him, and he would have given thee living water.
