'Gnawing' in the Bible
Through want and through barren hunger they are gnawing [in the] dry region [in the] darkness of desolation and waste.
Night pierces my bones,but my gnawing pains never rest.
What the gnawing locust has left, the swarming locust has eaten;And what the swarming locust has left, the creeping locust has eaten;And what the creeping locust has left, the stripping locust has eaten.
“Then I will make up to you for the yearsThat the swarming locust has eaten,The creeping locust, the stripping locust and the gnawing locust,My great army which I sent among you.
And the fifth messenger did pour out his vial upon the throne of the beast, and his kingdom did become darkened, and they were gnawing their tongues from the pain,
