'Rebuked' in the Bible
Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.
And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?
But the LORD rebuked Moses and Aaron, telling Moses: "Because you both didn't believe me, because you didn't consecrate me as holy in the presence of the Israelis, you won't be the ones to bring this congregation into the land that I'm about to give them."
The men of Ephraim said to him, "Why have you treated us this way, that you didn't call us, when you went to fight with Midian?" They rebuked him sharply.
So David rebuked his men with the words and did not allow them to rise against Saul. And Saul got up from the cave, and he went on his way.
Joab went up to the palace and rebuked the king: "Today you've humiliated your entire army who just saved your life, the lives of your sons and daughters, and the lives of your wives and mistresses!
"There is still one man left by whom we could ask the LORD what to do," the king of Israel replied to Jehoshaphat, "but I hate him because he never prophesies anything good about me. He allowed no one to oppress them;He rebuked kings on their behalf:
He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.
Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err from thy commandments.
He who is often rebuked and stiffens his neck will be destroyed suddenly, with no remedy.
So now, why have you not rebuked Jeremiah of Anathoth who has been acting like a prophet among you?
Ephraim will be desolate when it is rebuked. I have made known among the tribes of Israel what will surely come about.

Those guilty of sin must be rebuked before all, as a warning to the rest.
And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
But if you show partiality [prejudice, favoritism], you are committing sin and are convicted by the Law as offenders.
But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
