Why are Omega-3s Important?
Omega-3 fatty acids are the main building blocks for your brain, nervous system and cell membranes. Unfortunately, many vegans don’t get enough of them. There are two types of essential fatty acids that must come from foods: omega-3s and omega-6s. Most people get too much omega-6 fatty acid which is present in foods like vegetable oils, nuts and margarine, but not enough omega-3.
