The “Good” in Good Friday

Crown of thorns

Even as He took His last breath, Jesus prayed.

Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And having said this he breathed his last.

LUKE 23:46

With His death, Jesus gave each of us new life in Him. That’s what makes Good Friday “good.”

Today, reflect on His sacrifice for you with a special Prayer in the Bible App.

The Chosen and Jesus eating last supper with disciples

Today, we remember Jesus’ Last Supper with His disciples. As they ate the bread and drank from the cup, He shared His promise to give new life through His death.

This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

MATTHEW 26:28

Palm Sunday celebrates Jesus’ triumphant entrance into Jerusalem, where He was welcomed like a king.

It’s also the first day of Holy Week, a time for us to reflect on the events leading up to Jesus’ death and resurrection.

And our Partner, The Chosen, is sharing scenes from the newly-released The Chosen: Last Supper (Season 5) as part of Guided Scripture!
