Sofá Café Opens in Framingham on April 8

A group of Brazil-based coffee shops that previously operated a location in Back Bay will unveil its newest cafe in Framingham next week. Sofá Café will hold its grand opening in the newly renovated 181 Concord St. space on April 8.

The cafe has been under construction since Sofá Café shut down its prior operation at 217 Newbury St. last November. The Framingham cafe has more space than the Back Bay shop, and owner Diego Gonzales previously told Eater it would allow for more focus on roasting coffee beans brought in from Brazil.

Sofá Café was founded in São Paulo, Brazil in 2011, and there are now multiple locations there and in Rio de Janeiro. Framingham’s cafe will serve a wide range of beverages, including iced coffee and tea, smoothies, hot chocolate, hot tea, and more. There will be a handful of different hot coffee preparations, including Aeropress, Chemex, French press, and pour over. For food, there will be baked goods, sandwiches, salads, and fruit yogurt parfaits.

After the grand opening on April 8, Sofá Café will be open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
