OUROBOROS ☀️

Ouroboros (or oroboro or Ouroboros) is a symbol represented by a snake or a dragon biting its own tail. The name comes from ancient Greek: οὐρά (Oura) means "tail" and βόρος (Boron), meaning "devour". Thus, the word refers to "one who devours its own tail." Their representation symbolizes eternity. It is related to alchemy, which is sometimes represented as two mythical animals, biting the tail of each other.

"In the image of the uroboros (the serpent swallowing its own tail) lies the thought of devouring oneself and turning oneself into a circulatory process... The uroboros is a dramatic symbol for the integration and assimilation of the opposite, i.e., of the shadow...it is said of the uroboros that he slays himself and brings himself to life, fertilizes himself and gives birth to himself." ~Carl Jung; Mysterium Coniunctionis

Plato described a self-eating, circular being as the first living thing in the universe - an immortal, mythologically constructed beast.
