Brick residents will see some fresh new pavement on several major roads over the course of 2019, officials said.
Included in Ocean County’s 2019 budget, adopted last week, is the repaving of Van Zile Road. The project will be funded once the county formally adopts its budget after a public hearing and second vote in the coming weeks.
Mayor John Ducey this week said other roads are on the list to be paved this year as well. Drum Point Road, from the area of Angela Hibbard Park to its terminus at Barnegat Bay, will be paved in the spring as well as Cherry Quay Road.

“Sometime before July, that project will be completed by the county,” Ducey said.
In New Jersey, road paving is generally conducted on a seasonal basis due to asphalt plants closing during cold weather.
