This 1962 MG Midget was restored and modified under previous ownership and was acquired by the current owner in 2023. The car is powered by a retrofitted 1,275ccc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in Ruby Red over black vinyl. Equipment includes electronic ignition, dual SU carburetors, a Magnaflow muffler, front disc brakes, 13″ Minilite-style wheels, chrome bumpers, a cabin heater, and a Sony CD stereo. This Midget shows 23k miles and is offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with restoration photos, spare and removed parts, service records, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.
The car was refinished under previous ownership in Ruby Red and features door-mounted side mirrors, chrome finished bumpers, and a single exhaust outlet with a polished slash-cut finisher. The seller notes bubbling in the paint on the front fenders and chips on the rear quarter panels. A replacement black soft top and associated framework are included in the sale.
The 13″ Minilite-style alloy wheels with silver centers and polished lips are mounted with Kumho Solus TA11 tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The low-back bucket seats are trimmed in black vinyl that extends to the dash pad and door panels. Appointments include a cabin heater, a Vaultz storage box mounted on the parcel shelf, and a Sony CD stereo linked to Infinity speakers. Areas of the dashboard trim are cracked.
The two-spoke steering wheel wears an aftermarket wrap and fronts a black-finished dashboard that houses a 100-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 23k miles, less than 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The retrofitted 1,275cc inline-four was rebuilt and installed in 2010. Features include dual SU carburetors, K&N air filters, CraneCams Fireball XR700 electronic ignition, a Lucas Gold ignition coil, and a custom exhaust system with a Magnaflow muffler.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission that was rebuilt in 2010.
The reproduction data tag carries the VIN stamping “62GAN1L3475” shown above which matches the VIN on the current California title. The “62” is a non-factory prefix issued by the State of California under previous ownership.
Car show awards, workshop manuals, and service records are included in the sale.
A binder containing in-process photos of the restoration accompanies the car.
