This Ford Mustang 1964.5-1966 got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1966 Ford Mustang is an A-Code convertible that was sold new in California and has been owned by the seller in Minnesota since 1992. The car was equipped from the factory with a 289ci V8, 3-speed automatic transmission, and a black interior with matching soft top. Modifications include an older color change and upholstery refreshment as well a front disc brake conversion, and the seller describes annual oil and filter changes. This Mustang is offered with partial records and a clean Minnesota title in the seller’s name.

Originally Tahoe Turquoise, the seller says the body was not in need of repair before being repainted in its current red sometime during the 1990s. The older finish is shown up close in several photos below along with the brightwork, lighting, and other trim. The car is pictured wearing its reportedly original California black license plates with tags from 1991.

The black soft top is stowed under a matching tonneau cover and shown raised in additional gallery photos. The car rides on steel wheels with faux wire hubcaps and whitewall tires. Drum brakes were standard equipment at all four corners, though a front disc conversion has taken place here.

The black vinyl upholstery and carpeting was replaced in 2000 per the seller. An included build sheet notes the car was optioned with a 3-speed “Cruise-O-Matic” transmission, power steering and brakes, tinted windshield, AM radio, deluxe seat belts, and a full-length center console. Just under 73k miles are indicated on the 5-digit odometer.

The chassis identification number denotes that the car came equipped with an A-code 289ci V8 with a 4-barrel carburetor that made 225 horsepower when new. Annual maintenance has reportedly been performed throughout the seller’s ownership, including a recent oil and filter change. The factory valve covers and air cleaner are not currently fitted but will be included in the sale.
