Single-Family-Owned 1967 Volkswagen Beetle

This 1967 Volkswagen Beetle was purchased new by the current owner’s father-in-law before being inherited, and it subsequently underwent a multi-year refurbishment that was completed in 2024. Work is noted to have involved repairing metal body panels, refinishing the body in beige, replacing various interior components, overhauling the brake system, and rebuilding the air-cooled 1.5L flat-four. Shifting is through a four-speed manual transaxle, and the car is further equipped with a Solex carburetor, body-color 15″ steel wheels, chrome-finished bumpers, black vinyl upholstery, and VDO instruments. This Beetle is now offered with hand-written refurbishment notes and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

During the aforementioned refurbishment, the body was stripped, rust repairs were performed, the window seals were replaced, and the car was repainted in beige, according to the seller. Details include polished beltline trim, a left-side mirror, pop-out rear quarter windows, dual “pea shooter” exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders. The seller notes the windshield washer fluid sprayer does not work and rust is evident on the bumpers and inside the trunk compartment.

Body-color 15″ steel wheels wear polished hubcaps and are mounted with 165-series Nexen SB-802 tires that are in need of replacement. The seller notes that the wheel cylinders and shoes were replaced.

The front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in black vinyl and are joined by a replacement headliner, carpets, and door seals. A cabin heater, a passenger grab handle, and door map pockets are further elements. The seller notes that the driver’s lower door hinge sags, the driver’s seat cushion is torn, and the radio speakers are missing.

The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and a Wolfsburg crest center cap and frames a replacement 100-mph VDO speedometer and fuel level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 690 miles, which is said to represent the mileage accumulated since the completion of the build. True chassis mileage is unknown.

The air-cooled 1.5L flat-four features a single Solex downdraft carburetor and is said to have been overhauled as part of the refurbishment.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. The fuel tank and sending unit were replaced, and rust is evident on the underside.
