1969 Buick Electra 225 Custom Convertible
This 1969 Buick Electra 225 Custom is one of 8,294 convertibles produced for the model year, and it is said to have been sold new in California before it was purchased by the current owner in 2016. The car is finished in blue over matching vinyl upholstery, and power comes from a 430ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a power-retractable white convertible top, power steering, power brakes, fender skirts, air conditioning, power windows, a quartz clock, and a Sonomatic AM radio with a Bluetooth receiver. This Electra 225 convertible is now offered on dealer consignment with an owner’s manual, a spare set of steel wheels, a luggage set, and a California title.
The car is finished in blue and features include a power-retractable white convertible top, quad headlamps, chrome bumpers and trim, front curb feelers, fender-mounted VentiPorts, fender skirts, and round rear side-marker lamps.
The car features 15″ Magnum 500-style wheels with Hankook Kinergy ST whitewall radial tires on its right side, while 15″ steel wheels with chrome covers and Hankook Optimo whitewall radials are mounted on the left. The seller notes that two additional wheels to match each side will accompany the car, and a full-size spare is stowed under a cover in the carpeted trunk. The Electra 225 rode on a 126.2″ wheelbase and was equipped from the factory with power steering. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted drums with finned aluminum front units.
The cabin features front and rear bench seating trimmed in blue vinyl along with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes air conditioning, power windows, lap belts, and a rear speaker. The factory Sonomatic AM radio was fitted with a Bluetooth receiver, and the clock was rebuilt with an electric movement.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a fuel-level gauge, and warning lights. The five-digit odometer shows 96k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 430ci V8 is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 360 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. An electric cooling fan is fitted.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission.
