This 1972 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 is a Limousine model that is finished in black over black leather and blue cloth upholstery, and it is powered by a 472ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a black vinyl roof, cornering lights, front disc brakes, 15″ steel wheels, a power-operated partition window, and middle-row jump seats. The current owner acquired the car in 2016, and work in September 2022 involved servicing the transmission, rebuilding the ignition distributor, and adjusting the vacuum lines, drive belts, and ignition timing. This Series 75 Limousine is now offered on consignment by the selling dealer with recent service records and New York registration.
The car is finished in black, and features include a black vinyl top, chrome bumpers and trim, quadruple headlights, cornering lights, a power antenna, and rear fender skirts.
Steel 15″ wheels wear covers with Cadillac emblems and are mounted with 235/75 Hankook Kinergy ST whitewall tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. Front suspension work in September 2022 included replacement of the idler arm, outer tie-rod ends, lower ball joints, and front strut rod and upper control-arm bushings.
The glass-partitioned front of the cabin features a power-adjustable bench seat trimmed in black leather. Amenities include front and rear automatic climate control, power windows, power door locks, and cruise control as well as an analog clock located on the passenger side of the dashboard. The push-button AM/FM radio does not work.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a horizontal-sweep 120-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 42k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership.
The rear passenger compartment has pop-up middle-row jump seats and a rear bench trimmed in blue cloth and leather upholstery, complemented by wood trim and a color-coordinated bulkhead and carpeting. Rear occupants are provided with controls for the radio, windows, and climate system.
The 472ci V8 sends power to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Work in September 2022 at Automotive Restorations Inc of Stratford, Connecticut included a transmission service, a rebuild of the ignition distributor, and adjustment of the car’s vacuum lines, drive belts, and ignition timing; a receipt for the work is viewable in the photo gallery below.
Additional images of the underside are presented in the gallery, and corrosion is noted on some underbody components.
The car does not have a title, as it was last registered in a state that does not issue titles for vehicles of its age. This Cadillac is being listed on a transferable New York registration document that expired in December 2020.
