1977 BMW 530i 4-Speed
This 1977 BMW 530i has been fitted with Euro-spec bumpers, 16″ Alpina wheels, and a RetroSound Bluetooth stereo with a trunk-mounted subwoofer. The car was purchased by the seller in 2018 and is powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Finished in Arctic Blue Metallic over beige leather, it is equipped with power steering, power-assisted disc brakes, a sunroof, and power windows. This E12 shows 88k miles and is now offered at no reserve with recent records, a trunk-mounted tool kit, and a clean New York title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Arctic Blue Metallic (045), and features include a sunroof, side moldings, a rear spoiler, Euro-specification bumpers, central exhaust outlets, and a chrome driver-side mirror.
The 16″ Alpina wheels have been added and are mounted with 205/55 and 225/50 Solar 4XS tires. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted discs at each corner, and the car came equipped from the factory with power steering. The seller recommends replacing the suspension bushings.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in beige leather, and amenities include power windows, a wood shift knob, and a RetroSound radio with Bluetooth that is linked to a trunk-mounted subwoofer that was installed in 2019. The right-rear power window switch does not work. Interior drips from the sunroof are noted during rain, and the driver’s door catch is missing. The driver’s seat lever was repaired in 2018.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,400-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 88k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership.
The 3.0-liter M30B30 inline-six is situated beneath a strut tower brace and features Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection for a factory rating of 176 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. Work in 2018 included replacing the coolant and fan belts, while the accessory air slide valve was replaced in 2019. A new water pump was installed in 2021. The seller notes that the car stalls easily at cold idle.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The muffler was repaired in 2018 and again in 2021.
