Original-Owner 1982 Chevrolet Corvette Collector Edition
This 1982 Chevrolet Corvette Collector Edition was purchased new by the seller, and it shows 26k miles. It is powered by a 350ci L83 V8 paired with a replacement four-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Silver Beige Metallic over multi-tone Silver Beige leather. The car is equipped with a Positraction differential, 15″ turbine-style aluminum wheels, removable glass roof panels, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a cassette stereo, a CB radio, cruise control, power windows, and air conditioning. This special-edition C3 Corvette is now offered with the owner’s manual, a repair manual, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Michigan title in the seller’s name.
The Collector Edition was the first Corvette offered with a hinged glass rear hatch rather than a fixed rear window. This example features fiberglass bodywork finished in Silver Beige Metallic (59L) with fading shadow treatment on the hood, fenders, and doors. Exterior equipment includes removable glass T-top roof panels, pop-up headlights, side marker lights, fender air vents, sport mirrors, and quad tail lights. The left fender was damaged and subsequently repaired under current ownership. Photos detailing paint blemishes are provided in the gallery. One new, uninstalled AM/FM antenna and two damaged, uninstalled CB antennas are included in the sale.
The 15″ turbine-style aluminum wheels are mounted with Goodyear Eagle GT+4 tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel power-assisted discs.
The bucket seats are trimmed in multi-tone Silver Beige leather and are joined by matching door panels. Interior amenities include a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a cassette stereo, a CB radio, cruise control, power windows, a tilting steering column, and an air conditioning system that has been converted to utilize R134a refrigerant. The cable for the rear glass hatch is broken.
The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer. Gauges for coolant temperature, oil temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level are located in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 26k miles.
The 350ci L83 V8 features Cross-Fire Injection and was factory rated at 200 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a Positraction differential. A replacement transmission was said to have been installed in 1992.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other damage. It lists an initial entry in December 2006 and shows multiple gaps in entry.
