This Baja-style Volkswagen Beetle is a running and driving project that was featured in the Netflix series Tex Mex Motors, at which time the car was fitted with a 2.4-liter Ecotec inline-four. Additional work performed included installing a roll cage, fiberglass body panels, long-travel suspension, and Jamar Performance hubs and brakes along with a repaint in satin metallic green. Additional details include 15″ beadlock wheels, a 091 six-rib four-speed manual transaxle, a UMP centrifugal air filter, drive-by-wire throttle control, Aces Racing seats and harnesses, a fiberglass dashboard panel, a Konnwei multi-function LCD display, a power inverter, an Optima yellow top battery, a Scat Drag Fast shifter, USB and 12-volt charging outlets, push-button ignition, a fire extinguisher, and Jamar Performance pedals. This modified Beetle is now offered on dealer consignment at no reserve with a bill of sale.
The body is finished in satin metallic green and features a one-piece fiberglass front end and rear bodywork in addition to LED exterior lighting. A hole has been cut in the roof, and further exterior details include a tubular front bumper, side rails, engine cage, and mirror mounts. There are no windows installed, and dents, cracked paint, and evidence of the previously installed roundels are visible along with rust on the heater channel bottom plates.
The beadlock 15″ wheels are mounted with 33″ Tensor desert tires. A rack-and-pinion steering rack has been installed and the suspension has been modified with long-travel components including a widened front axle beam, extended front trailing arms, boxed rear trailing arms, Fox Racing shocks, and Jamar Performance hubs at all four corners. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with Jamar Performance calipers over directional rotors.
Inside, a pair of Aces Racing seats and harnesses have been added along with a roll cage that ties into the front and rear suspension. A fiberglass dashboard panel has been installed and the shifter has been relocated rearward, while additional interior elements include a power inverter, and an Optima yellow top battery have also been installed along with a Scat Drag Fast shifter, USB and 12-volt charging outlets, push-button ignition, a fire extinguisher, and Jamar Performance pedals.
The aftermarket three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 3.5-inch Konnwei multi-function LCD display.
The 2.4-liter Ecotec inline-four was installed under previous ownership in 2024 and is equipped with a UMP centrifugal air filter and drive-by-wire throttle control. The radiator is mounted in the rear cargo area and features a body-color shroud and dual electric fans. Per the seller, the car has been sitting for a while and requires service before driving.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a VW Bus-sourced 091 six-rib four-speed manual transaxle with a hydraulic clutch slave cylinder. Corrosion is visible on underbody components.
The vehicle does not have a title, the selling dealer is unable to locate identification numbers on the car and it is being sold on a bill of sale.
