    Features

    Asus

    Better, Faster, Stronger

We've brought a larger cooler to the table, which necessitates a more powerful and efficient fan that must maintain a whisper-quiet acoustic profile. Axial-tech implement our latest innovations for fan performance. We've reduced the size of the fan's hub to allow for longer blades and added a barrier ring that increases structural integrity and downward air pressure through the heatsink array. And we've also implemented dust resistance to seal the fan's internals from particle ingress. The new design allows Axial-tech fans to shift more air and spin at higher speeds without increasing noise levels.

    Asus

    Quiet intelligence

0dB technology allows fans to stop spinning when the GPU core temperature remains below 55 Celsius, letting you enjoy light gaming in complete silence. If temps rise, the fans automatically start up again.

    Asus

    Sink your heat into this

This generation, our top-end cards adopt a 2.7-slot footprint to accommodate a larger heatsink because bigger is better. We've increased the overall surface area of our cooling array by over 20% compared to last gen. If you want to squeeze the most out of the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2080Ti's performance, our latest design gives you a lot more thermal headroom for overclocking.

    Features (Cont.)

    Asus

    Precision-machined heat spreader

MaxContact is a technology that utilizes precision machining to create a heat spreader surface that makes up to 2X more contact with the GPU chip, resulting in improved thermal transfer.

    Asus

    Architecture FTWArchitecture FTWArchitecture FTW

Our engineers have boosted the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2080's structural integrity by 3X with a metal brace that prevents excessive torsion and lateral bending of the PCB.

    Asus

    Monitor, Tweak and Tune

The ASUS GPU Tweak II utility takes graphics card performance tuning and to the next level. It allows you to tweak critical parameters including GPU core clocks, memory frequency, voltage settings, and more with the option to monitor everything in real-time through a customizable on-screen display.

    Asus

    Precision Automated Manufacturing

All ROG Strix graphics cards are produced using Auto-Extreme Technology, an automated manufacturing process that sets new standards in the industry. Traditionally, soldering of through-hole and surface-mounted components needs to be performed in separate stages. Auto-Extreme Technology allows all soldering to be completed in a single pass, reducing thermal strain on components and avoiding the use of harsh cleaning chemicals. The end result is less environmental impact, lower manufacturing power consumption, and a more reliable product.

Read Before Buying - Horrible Experience
You must read this before you buy an Asus video card. My experience with Asus has singlehandedly been the worst experience I’ve had with purchasing an expensive product – ever. The Graphic Card:I purchased this card in March of 2019 from Amazon. The card worked fine for approximately 11 months and then it started freezing my computer. It eventually got to the point where this card would freeze my computer every time I would start it up.The Customer Service:I called ASUS, and they responded quickly, informing me I still had two or three (not sure) more years on my warranty. I sent the card back and they eventually said my video card was defective. They shipped me a new card…so I thought. When I received my card, I placed it into my computer and it worked fine for about 30 days. Then, after about 30 days, the card started freezing my computer when using certain programs. I did every update imaginable and nothing worked. I took out this new card and placed my old 980ti, and my computer worked fine. I put the ASUS card back in and it started freezing again.Luckily, I saved the box that ASUS sent this second card in and that’s when I saw the word REFURBISHED on the side of the box. So, I bought a card that cost me over $1,500.00, including taxes, it was confirmed to be defective, and they send me a refurbished card – not a new one. I called ASUS and asked them why they sent me a refurbished card and they said they only provide refurbished cards as replacements, never new ones.Because of the C0VID-19 pandemic, I could not send ASUS this second card until a couple months passed. So, when they wanted to provide me with the proper shipping documents, they asked me for the S/N number. When I typed the S/N number on their website, it was not recognized. The S/N number on the box the card was shipped to me in and the number on the card were not being recognized. So, I contacted ASUS and informed them of this. They then generated an RMA number for me and sent me a shipping label. I put the label on the box and sent it off to them. At this point, I’d spent about $100 on postal costs to send these two cards back to ASUS.A few days later I received an email informing me that my card had been received by ASUS and will now be analyzed. A few days passed and I received an email saying that the card had been damaged by me and that they would not replace the card or fix it, unless I paid approximately $1,200.00, including taxes! And, they said my warranty was now void because I damaged it. Imagine that, the first card is defective, the second refurbished card is not working, and they now want to charge me $1,200.00 for me to fix a refurbished card that stopped working after 30 days. With this email, they also sent me a picture of an extremely small scratch on the card. Another picture they sent was the box I shipped the card in and it appeared to be slightly damaged. I presume they sent me a picture of the box to show me that perhaps the card got damaged during shipping.Over the course of the next week, I called them about five times to discuss this matter. Their calls are answered by a center based in the Philippines. As a result of that, there is a three to four second delay between speaking and actually being heard, so much of the discussion is the customer service representative and I speaking over each other - it was beyond frustrating. While the representatives were polite, I got the sense they simply wanted to get me off the phone. It got to the point where I would always ask for a supervisor and a few times there was none. So I would have to call back in hopes a supervisor was available.I eventually spoke with two supervisors, John and Ryan, over two separate phone calls, and I explained to each of them the history of my situation. I explained that I had not caused the slight scratch on the card, that it was a refurbished card and maybe the previous owner of this card caused the scratch, and I explained to them the S/N number issue. I further explained that the location of this slight scratch would probably not even affect the performance of the card. They said they would look into it and get back to me. I asked both of these supervisors to please call me back to update me and they both promised they would. However, neither one of them did – they simply emailed me short canned responses. Finally, I was told they would give me a 25% discount on the $1,200.00 repair bill, otherwise they would simply ship my card back to me unrepaired. They also informed me that I should contact the Post Office because maybe I could go through their insurance as a result of the shipping damage. Luckily, I did buy the insurance, and I was so frustrated at ASUS, I figured it might be easier to go through the postal insurance I bought.I did research on the insurance and I quickly figured out I would need the box that ASUS said was allegedly damaged during shipping. So I contacted ASUS to make sure they would send me the box, because the insurance people would definitely want to see it to determine whether or not they should cover the damage. They informed me they no longer have the box…even though they thought the box was important enough to take a picture of and email to me. So, two video cards later, a voided warranty and their inability to provide me with the box that would be crucial for insurance purposes, I felt beyond slighted by ASUS.AMAZON IS AWESOME:I had one other option – call Amazon and see if they would help. To make a long story short, Amazon instructed me to send the card back to them and they’re giving me a refund – even though they had no obligation to do so. This is what you call good customer service!Final Thoughts:First, I will never, ever buy another product from ASUS. Why would I? With so many other options and so many other companies that offer good customer service, I would have to be stupid to buy from ASUS again. This experience has been beyond frustrating, and it truly taught me the importance of buying a product from a company that provides good customer service.Secondly, Amazon is awesome. I cannot be more thankful to Amazon for giving me a refund.I hope this review helped.

Out of the box, this card is a beast in physicality and performance. This is very much a case where you get what you pay for but with a severely hefty premium to boot (try not to buy this above MSRP as the price is ludicrous as it is). This card is best suited for 1440p or 4k gaming and should be paired with high end parts to maximize it's potential (motherboard, power supply, high-end CPU). Here are my specs for reference:

      Corsair Obsidian 500D RGB
      ASUS Maximus Code XI motherboard
      Intel Core I9 9900k
      Corsair Vengeance RGB 2 X 16GB 3200 MHz
      Corsair H115i Platinum
      Seasonic Prime Platinum 1300W
Samsung EVO Plus 1 TB NVMe

Now, let's dive into the fine details:

      Build Quality:
Top notch. This is a long, heavy, and beefy graphics card. Calling it a beast is an understatement. It has good rigidity throughout and has minimal droop due to the reinforced body ASUS used. However, it's still a behemoth at 2.7 slot wide, which is slightly larger than the already thick ASUS Strix 1080 TI OC at 2.5 slots. Please be mindful of your case's clearance as it may cause problems if you're trying to use a smaller case or one with limited space. However, the card looks fierce and with RGB it looks even better (controlled through AURA software).

      Performance:
Outstanding. Like the title says, this is the best money can realistically buy barring the RTX Titan. Out of the box performance allows for 1440p at 100+ fps and 4k at 60-70 fps depending on the title and how demanding it is. If you enable Ray Tracing, understand that there is a significant performance drop, even with DLSS enabled. At stock settings it runs quiet and cool, 60-65C. However, if you're buying this card, chances are you're looking to overclock this for maximum potential and this card makes that a breeze. ASUS has there own software (GPUTWEAKII) which works well for overclocking, however you can use whatever software you desire. Just know that when overclocking you should create a custom fan curve to accommodate the higher clocks. this is where personal preference comes into play. You can run it hard and loud or decent and quiet but not both. This card can run extremely cool with a decent overclock and an aggressive fan curve, which will result in noticeably louder fan noise. Nothing deal-breaking, but definitely not subtle. Temps typically never reach above 70C with a +110 MHz core overclock and +600 MHz memory overclock.

      Price:
Ridiculous. Not worth it above MSRP. However, if you're even considering this card, you're probably not phased by the price. Whether the price tag is worth it to you is subjective. I previously owned a 1080 TI and I can say if you already own that card, the performance isn't worth the substantial price hike. That being said, I'm an enthusiast and bought this despite that fact and because I simply wanted the latest and greatest card.

      Minor Considerations:
-RGB and overclocking are done using software you have to download, whether through ASUS or a third-party (although the RGB is exclusive to AURA).
-Ray Tracing and DLSS are a point of contention. If you value amazing lighting and visuals over performance, this card is the best you can get that will achieve that. However, if you prefer higher frame rates, Ray Tracing becomes akin to Nvidia Hairworks. They look pretty but aren't worth the performance drop in my opinion.
-My unit has minor coil whine, nothing crazy but definitely noticeable. It's widely reported that almost all 2080 TI's of all makes and models have some coil whine. I am noting this so any potential buyers are aware of this problem.
-This card requires substantial power output, so make sure your PSU can handle it especially if you're looking to overclock it (anywhere from 200-325W of power draw).
-On opening the box you get custom ASUS velcro cable ties and the drivers for the card on CD-ROMs.

As a computer enthusiast who thrives on pushing hardware to its limits, I can confidently say that the ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 2080TI Overclocked 11G is an absolute marvel of engineering and performance, even in 2024! 🚀

Let's delve into why this graphics card deserves a glowing 5-star review:

      Build Quality:
First and foremost, the build quality of this card is unparalleled. ASUS has truly outdone themselves with the ROG STRIX series. It's a behemoth of a card, with a robust and reinforced body that exudes durability. Despite its size, it fits perfectly into my rig, and the RGB lighting adds a touch of futuristic elegance. 💪

      Performance:
When it comes to performance, the RTX 2080TI-O11G is a game-changer. Whether I'm immersing myself in the latest AAA titles at max graphics settings or diving into intensive video editing sessions, this card handles everything with ease. Thanks to its overclocking capabilities, I can squeeze every ounce of power out of it without breaking a sweat. And let's not forget about Ray Tracing – while it may cause a slight dip in performance, the visual fidelity it brings to games is simply breathtaking. 🎮

      Price:
Yes, it's true that this card comes with a hefty price tag, but trust me when I say it's worth every penny. Sure, there may be more affordable options out there, but none can match the sheer performance and reliability of the RTX 2080TI-O11G. As an enthusiast who craves the best of the best, I didn't hesitate to invest in this masterpiece, and I haven't looked back since. 💰

      Minor Considerations:
Sure, every piece of hardware has its quirks, but the minor considerations with this card are far outweighed by its merits. From the slight coil whine to the need for ample power output, these are small sacrifices to make for the unparalleled performance and quality that ASUS delivers. And let's not forget the extra goodies like custom cable ties and drivers – it's the little touches that make a big difference. 👍

In conclusion, if you're a fellow gaming enthusiast or content creator who demands nothing but the best, the ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 2080TI is an investment you won't regret. Even in 2024, it remains a top contender in the world of graphics cards, setting the standard for performance and reliability. Absolutely Insane card, almost no need to overclock further. It’s quieter than excepted which is good. Arrived in perfect condition with no issues... although ASUS has a defect with the fans bearings for these cards... Both a friend and I own this card (bought from different sources) and noticed tiny glycol/oil droplets along the front glass being thrown out from the fans. So something wasn’t sealed properly on Asus’s end and I’m expecting to have to replace the these fans prematurely. None the less, premium card.

Aunque da video al arrancar ya no entra a Windows. Ya se reinstalo el software y la computadora funciona cuando no esta instalada esta tarjeta. La tengo que regresar.
