Geomancy (Japanese: ジオコントロール Geo Control) is a non-damaging Fairy-type move introduced in Generation VI. It is the signature move of Xerneas.
Effect
The user charges the move on the first turn. On the second turn, the user's Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed increase by two stages.
The held item Power Herb can allow its holder to use Geomancy in one turn, then the Power Herb is consumed in the process. If the user falls for Taunt while charging, the move will fail on the next turn.
If powered up by a Fairium Z into Z-Geomancy, the user's Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed are raised by one stage each (before Geomancy's charging turn). If the user is under the effect of Taunt, Z-Geomancy's initial stat-boosting effect as well as its charging turn will execute normally, but the move will fail after the charging turn.
Generation VIII
Pokémon Sword and Shield
In Versions 1.0 to 1.2.1 of Pokémon Sword and Shield, Geomancy could not be selected in a battle. Starting with Version 1.3.0, it is usable and functions the same as it did in previous generations.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Geomancy cannot be selected in a battle.
Generation IX
This move effect may be in need of research. Reason: Whether Metronome can call Geomancy You can discuss this on the talk page. |
Geomancy is programmed into Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but it cannot be used in a battle as no available Pokémon can learn it.
