Gyarados (Japanese: ギャラドス Gyarados) is a Water-type Stage 1 Pokémon card. It was first released as part of the Base Set.

Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now
Paralyzed.

Rarely seen in the wild. Huge and vicious, it is capable of destroying entire cities in a rage.

Release information
This card was included in the Base Set with artwork by Mitsuhiro Arita, first released in the Japanese Expansion Pack. In Japan, this card was reprinted with artwork by Ryouichi Abe, one of five winning entries of the CoroCoro Pokémon Snap Best Photo Contest held in Spring 1999. This version is extremely rare and the exact number in existence is unknown. The Base Set print was reprinted in the Base Set 2 and Legendary Collection expansions.

- In print runs after the 1st edition and shadowless print runs the collection number "6/102" is printed too far to the left.
Origin
Dragon Rage and Bubble Beam are both moves in the Pokémon games that Gyarados can learn, the latter only in Generation I via TM11. This card's English Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Red and Blue, whereas the Japanese entry comes from Pokémon Red and Green.
