Poké Biscuit, an example of a biscuit in Pokémon Sleep

A biscuit (Japanese: サブレ Sablé) is a type of item in Pokémon Sleep. Biscuits are used to befriend Pokémon encountered during sleep research, in a similar fashion to Poké Balls being used to catch Pokémon in the core series games.

Mechanics

Snack Time in Pokémon Sleep (editor note: make sure to use Greengrass Isle for the image as default)

After the player finishes tracking their sleep and completed the sleep research, the game will proceed to "Snack Time", in which the player is allowed to give biscuits to the Pokémon that have gathered around Snorlax. Each Pokémon has a friendship points gauge, which is filled by giving them biscuits. If a Pokémon's friendship points gauge is completely filled, the prompt "Max Friendship Points!" will appear, and the Pokémon will be added to the player's Pokémon Box.

Each biscuit provides the amount of friendship points indicated on their item descriptions, although there is a rare chance for each biscuit to have a 3× multiplier applied to its friendship point yield. Sometimes, a Pokémon arrives hungry, indicated by the "Hungry" (Japanese: チャンス Chance) notice above the Pokémon, which guarantees that the next biscuit fed to it will have its friendship point yield multiplied by 3. Shiny Pokémon encountered during sleep research will always be hungry, and its friendship points gauge will max out instantly if fed, regardless of the type of biscuit used.

There is no limit to the number of biscuits that can be fed to a Pokémon each day. However, there is a chance for each Pokémon to be full (indicated by the "All Full!" notice above the Pokémon) after the second biscuit fed to it, indicating that the Pokémon can no longer be fed biscuits.

Once a friendship points gauge is filled for a Pokémon, it will be reset for other Pokémon of its kind. If a biscuit overfills the gauge, any leftover points will not be carried over to the next gauge. Multiples of the same Pokémon appearing during Snack Time share the same friendship points gauge; thus, if a player feeds a biscuit to one of them, the others will have their gauges filled as well. This mechanic may be exploited by the player to befriend a Pokémon if another of its kind is already full.

Types of biscuits

Regular types of biscuits are named after and analogous to various types of Poké Balls in the core series games: the Poké Ball, the Great Ball, the Ultra Ball, and the Master Ball. Bonus biscuits and event-exclusive biscuits are also available in-game.

Poké Biscuit

The Poké Biscuit (Japanese: ポケサブレ Poké Sablé) gives 1 friendship point when fed to a Pokémon.

It is the only biscuit modeled after Poké Balls whose Japanese name doesn't match that of a Poké Ball, as the Poké Ball in Japanese is known as モンスターボール Monster Ball.

Bonus Biscuit

The Bonus Biscuit in Pokémon Sleep

Every day during the first sleep research, the player is given one Bonus Biscuit, which gives 3 friendship points when fed to a Pokémon. If the player has the Premium Pass active, the Bonus Biscuit will be replaced by the visually identical Premium Bonus Biscuit, which gives 4 friendship points instead. No Bonus Biscuits are given for the second sleep research of the day.

If a player forgets to track their sleep during a day, the player may log their sleep manually from the menu. If they do, they are eligible to receive an extra Bonus Biscuit on the next day they do sleep research, making them receive two Bonus Biscuits. However, if the player then tracks their sleep on the same day they manually log their sleep (effectively making it a second sleep research), the extra Bonus Biscuit will be voided. (A day in Pokémon Sleep is a 24-hour period of time from 4:00 a.m. to 3:59 a.m.)

Bonus Biscuits cannot be stored in the inventory. If a player finishes a Snack Time session without using their Bonus Biscuit, the game will automatically feed it to one of the encountered Pokémon at random.

Event-exclusive biscuits

The following biscuits are event-exclusive and named after specific Pokémon, and can only be fed to those Pokémon. These event-exclusive biscuits give 6 friendship points when fed to a Pokémon. Event-exclusive biscuits are stored in the inventory only for the duration of the event; any event-exclusive biscuits left in the inventory when the event finishes will be automatically converted to Great Biscuits.

Thus far, two types of event-exclusive biscuits have been introduced: Raikou Biscuit and Entei Biscuit. All event-exclusive biscuits share the following description.

Games Description
Sleep An incense adored by <Pokémon>. It should be used before sleeping.
An incense loved by <Pokémon>.
During your next sleep research, one additional <Pokémon> will appear.
