The Center’s Mission

The Multicultural Center supports students from historically underrepresented backgrounds, particularly students of color. We strive to center their voices to promote cultural change and build an inclusive community where all students can thrive. We celebrate diversity, facilitate dialogue and cross-collaboration, and foster a sense of belonging in the Wisconsin School of Business.

Undergraduate Affinity Groups

Our groups bring students together over common identities, fostering connections within WSB and the Multicultural Center. Supported by dedicated WSB liaisons, these groups provide a welcoming home for students seeking shared experiences. Students find support and belonging in a vibrant community space through discussions and activities.

Helping minority businesses thrive

Joseline Nyinawabera (MBA ‘22)

With a passion for entrepreneurship, marketing, and giving back, Joseline is a rising star in tech marketing. Her 9 to 5 is working at Intel, a multinational corporation and technology company, while her 5 to 9 is spent growing her business, BlkdBld & Co., a boutique marketing and business development firm that helps Black-owned businesses build, grow, and scale in today’s marketplace.

Avi Gomez (MBA ‘23)

A first-generation student and former supply chain professional, Avi sought a career path that would uplift women and minorities. Pivoting from tech to human resources, Avi is breaking down barriers and reimagining inclusion in business.

Dr. Aziza Jones (BBA ‘13)

The assistant marketing professor and Jeffrey J. Diermeier Faculty Fellow returns to WSB to teach strategic brand management at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Driven by a passion for consumer research, Aziza investigates how perceived social status, social mobility, and social inequality influence consumer behavior.

Cynthia Chu (BBA ‘99)

Cynthia is revolutionizing digital media as chief financial and growth officer at Audible, the market leader for premium audio storytelling. Navigating technology’s changes throughout her career, Cynthia has been able to continually pursue the goal that sparked her initial interest in business: problem-solving on a large scale that impacts consumers’ lives.
