The Rail Specialist was very knowledge and was able to answer all my questions about the Americas Great National Park tour. She gave me all the helpful hints and suggestions about taking this tour. I was so excited about going after she explained everything to me, I signed up immediately!
I have no experience using a tra El agency or taking a guided trip, but the information provided on the website was very thorough and most of my questions were available on-line. When I was ready to book my trip, I left a message and indicated the time I was available. Vacations by Train gave me awesome customer service.
Thank you VBR and all the associates I have spoken with regarding our Swiss Rail tour upcoming in October of 2025. Everyone has been so helpful and VBR worked with us to accommodate our occupancies. Customer Service answered my calls within minutes. Everyone was on the same “track”.

The one on one with staff leaves a bit to be desired. They sort of offered to help, but then they don’t follow through. So for example, when I was booking my trip, I have questions about booking flights to Alaska and you know the advisor did tell me to wait until my trip was confirmed which I appreciated but then he also said you can call us back and we’ll do it for you but we don’t have any special discounts or anything. Which was also fine, but I was really looking more for some guidance when I was booking my flights because I have never done a long distance trip like this and I haven’t flown since before 2000. So I managed to book the flights. Hopefully they’re correct and I’m getting in the evening before the tour starts so I wanted to book an extra night at our first hotel so I called back to get information on doing that and rep who answered was very friendly and took my information and said she’d get back to me and it was days later, and I finally gave up waiting and called the hotel directly myself, and she was very helpful at the hotel booking and friendly and nice, and so hopefully the hotel will be a good experience. I just think when people are spending the amount of money that this tour cost you should have more helpful people mean sometimes I get busy and I don’t get to call a customer back the same day in my job but I do follow up or at least send an email which I told the rep she could do as well as just leaving me a message because I could be on the phone with a customer when she called back . So hopefully your tour guides are the best because I have high hopes for this first vacation and a decade as well as high expenditure, so let’s hope

They have never sent me any information about my upcoming trip. I had to call them to pay (3 times) and now I've paid in full and still nothing from them.

I experienced friendly and helpful service from both representatives when inquiring about the trip. The initial signup was easy and my welcome package arrived shortly. After initially forgetting to include my AARP information, a quick phone took care of it leading to additional savings. I’m currently waiting for more information regarding extending our stay by arriving a day early and some information on trip insurance.

Well, I had a wonderful representative. Eventually help me, I did wait more than 20 minutes and listen to some pretty awful music while I did. I also had indicated that I wanted a 9 o’clock appointment and when somebody did call me it was after 10 and I had already made my booking. I hope the trip goes more smoothly.Al

The trip looks great covering the main areas in Switzerland we wanted to see. We haven't gone yet. It's our first independent trip but they have assured us they will provide very specific information on where to go and when. The people I have talked to have been extremely helpful. Looking forward to a fun adventure.
