SubscribeWe caught up with the brilliant and insightful Pam Miller a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Pam, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I think that you have to believe in yourself and truly enjoy what you do. That will give you the motivation to continue pursuing your dreams. The road won’t be easy but it will definitely be worth it. Your passion should reflect in your products and all that you do. For me the fact that I can make someone feel special fills my heart with happiness. The way that our customers enjoy our Sweets and love to use Sweet Touch to make others feel special definitely gives the motivation to keep going.

Pam, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Sweet Touch started 7 years ago, my mom and I stared doing chocolate covered strawberries bouquets for Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day only. As the time passed and we continue seeing the happiness that our sweets brought to our customers we decided to join small local events and make chocolate covered strawberries skewers on the spot. We knew we where going to face challenges but the idea was so clear in my mind that I wanted to pursuit it. Our community loved the taste of our chocolate so we added more items to our menu, like cake pops, chocolate covered Oreos, Choco pretzels, clusters, frozen bananas, frozen yogurt pops, our unique loaded hot cocoa for the cold days, our delicious Sweet Touch special, and a little bit of everything to accommodated the whole family. When COVID-19 happened and all events got cancelled it was hard for us because we couldn’t participate anywhere.
I started reaching out to neighborhoods that invited food truck once a week to offer our Sweets. Everyone had a food trucks but we only had a pop out tent. Other vendors were always super supportive and friendly. We went thru so many hot, cold, rainy days and definitely lots of destroyed tents lol that I told my mom that by the next year 2022 I’ll have my own dessert truck so everything can be more practical for us.
14 days until the new year I was able to get my bus with the help of an amazing couple who also owns a food truck. They guided me thru the whole process, believed in my dream and with time we were able to convert it to this beautiful fun pink dessert bus.
Now we offer our sweets of all occasions, mom cake pops are sold in a few coffee shop around the area too. we offer delivery, we have special item for the holidays, we take the bus to different events and we offer catering as well

the best part of this journey, is that I have the best people around me, my mom and my son, who supports and believes in me. Without them I wouldn’t be where I am at today.
A lot of people are surprise that I also have full career at the bank and I tried to balance work life, personal life and of course being a mom, but when you love what you do and you have dreams nothing is impossible. Our next goal for Sweet Touch is to have a local store for the future.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think for us we take the time to listen to our clients, we try to understand the ideas that they have in mind, no matter how big or small it is. We want everything comes out exactly how they imagine but even better, where they are extremely satisfied. We also responded to message in a timely manner to build a connection and trust with our clients.
I follow up with every single order to make sure they are satisfied with their sweets.
Our customers and community are so supportive and we appreciate it them from the bottom of my heart.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Taking the Sweet Touch bus to different events has allow us to meet new people, new clients and definitely create new relationship. That’s helped tremendously with growth.
