We were lucky to catch up with Veronica Betancourt recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Veronica thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Several years ago, I found myself immersed in the world of event planning, specializing in weddings. While I loved organizing these joyous occasions for others, I couldn’t shake the feeling that traditional weddings didn’t quite align with my personal preferences. The cookie-cutter approach and lack of intimate connection left me longing for something more authentic.
Not too long ago, I stumbled upon the concept of micro weddings and the idea immediately resonated with me and ignited a spark of excitement. Micro weddings offered an intimate and personalized experience, allowing couples to focus on the essence of their love and connection rather than the grandeur of a large event.
As I delved deeper into this idea, I realized that I could bring a unique perspective to the table. By infusing each micro wedding with the couple’s personal love story, I could create a truly meaningful and unforgettable experience for them and their guests. I knew I could connect with my clients on a personal level, understanding their desires and dreams, and translating them into every detail of their special day.
Recognizing that this approach addressed a significant gap in the market, I felt confident that I could bring something special to the table. The prospect of providing a service that offered an alternative to conventional weddings, one that celebrated love in its purest form, filled me with passion and determination.
Combining my experience as a wedding planner with the newfound inspiration of micro weddings, I started my business, Vow Micro Weddings. From that point on, I’ve been creating meaningful, personalized, and unforgettable wedding experiences that celebrates each couple’s unique journey of love.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m originally from Caracas, Venezuela, and I’ve spent over a decade in the wedding planning industry, refining my craft. Seven years ago, I took a leap of faith and moved to the US, where later on I established my own business focusing on micro weddings.

How did you build your audience on social media?
To build a social media audience, be consistent, authentic, and have fun. Find your niche, create valuable content, and engage with your audience. Use hashtags, collaborate, and be patient. Focus on building a community of engaged followers who relate to you on a personal level. Adapt and learn as you go, and enjoy the journey.
Have you ever had to pivot?
Certainly! When I moved to the US, I found myself working as a nanny for a considerable period. While I enjoyed the experience, my true passion lied in the event industry. I was craving to get back to what I loved, but I felt burnt out and frustrated in my current situation. After much contemplation, I decided to take a leap of faith and pivot back to my passion.
It was a significant decision, and transitioning back into the event industry wasn’t easy. I had to adapt to a new environment, learn and reacquaint myself with the latest trends, and face the challenges of starting fresh. However, despite the difficulties, I found the journey incredibly rewarding. Reconnecting with my passion brought joy and fulfillment back into my life.
Throughout the process, I learned the importance of taking chances and following my heart. While the pivot involved some uncertainties and adjustments, it ultimately led me to a path that aligned with my true calling. Embracing the change has been a pivotal moment in my life, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to pursue what I love and make a difference in the event industry.
