Vision, Mission, Values
Our purpose is to fulfill the Great Commandment and Great Commission given to us by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To worship Almighty God, serve His only Son Jesus Christ, and bring all people to Him by the grace and power of the Holy Spirit. This is the core emphasis of our vision, mission, and values.
- Matthew 22:37 Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
- Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Our vision is to be a parish that pours itself out for God, makes disciples, strengthens the faithful, and hands the Christian Faith to the next generation.
Our mission is to be an authentic parish family that shows the love of Jesus Christ in all we say and do.
Christ Anglican Church is committed to the following aspirational values. These values define how we will most effectively accomplish our mission.
More about our Vision, Mission, and Values:
Worship and Prayer
We worship God in spirit and in truth and pray regularly. God has created us to worship and adore Him forever and we experience the freedom of our being when we praise Him. He has commanded us to pray and we do so, both as a church and privately, instructed and formed by the Order for Holy Communion and the Daily Office in Morning and Evening Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer, 1928. We trust that God hears our prayers and we intentionally submit our private and corporate life before Him in prayer (Mt. 6:6; 7:7-11, 18:20; Eph. 5:19-20; 1 Thess. 5:17; Jas. 5:13-18).
Truth
We are fully committed to the thoughtful proclamation and presentation of God’s truth so that those seeking Christ can be found by Him, and believers may mature in Him. We accomplish this by preaching, teaching, and sharing God’s Holy Scriptures with relevant application through catholic order as found in the Book of Common Prayer, 1928 (2 Thess. 2:15; 2 Tim. 3:16, 4:2; Jas. 1:22).
Holy Sacraments
We are fully committed to the sacramental life and observe all seven sacraments of the Anglican tradition. The sacraments are the means of grace in which we experience the unmerited love of God and the transforming power of Christ. We desire that all people might experience the sacramental grace that is received in the ministrations of the Church (2 Thess. 2:15).
Love, Grace, and Mercy
We acknowledge that all people are created in the image of God and are loved and valued by Him (Gen. 1:27; Jas. 3:9). We seek to share this same love by word and deed with everyone the Lord brings across our path. We believe that by communicating the love of Jesus Christ, others will experience His grace and mercy (Jn. 3:16; 1 Cor. 13; Gal. 5:22-25; Eph. 2:8-9, 5:1-2).
Evangelism and Outreach
Part of our vision, mission and values is that we bring the Gospel to others primarily through charitable works. We believe the good news of Jesus Christ should be taught and caught not only by the words we speak, but especially by the way we live our lives, by loving others “in deed and in truth”. (Mt. 28:18-20; Luke 6:31; I John 3:18).
Family
We uphold families because marriage and family life are ordained by God. We believe the Church is to come alongside families and assist parents by helping them to impart the Christian faith and teach Biblical morality (Deut. 6:4-10; Eph. 6:4, 2 Tim. 1:5).
Community
We cultivate deep, healthy, and abiding relationships with God and our fellow parishioners through fellowship, hospitality, and showing love for one another. We trust that through this God will establish here an authentic, intergenerational community of grace open to all people (Mt. 22:34-40; Acts 2:42).
Equipping Leaders
We equip and commission leaders for the work of the ministry and the building up of the body of Christ. We value the spiritual gifts and natural talents of all God’s people (Acts 6:1; Rom 12:1-8; Eph 4:11-16). We provide an environment that allows for the discovery and development of natural abilities and spiritual gifts.
Communication
We strive to communicate honestly, clearly, and practically at all levels, speaking the truth in love (James 1-5).
Generosity
We acknowledge that all good gifts come from God. As we have received, so we generously give of our time, talents, and treasure to the work of His kingdom through our Parish (Ex. 36:2-7; Ps. 24; Isa. 6:8; Mt. 25:40; Luke 16:2; Acts 20:35; Rom. 12:1; 2 Cor. 8:1-5, James 1:17).
