Heat Advisory In Effect Through This Evening

A Heat ADVISORY is in effect for:

--Wayne and northern Cayuga counties from 11AM-6PM.

A heat advisory means that excessive heat will create the potential for heat illness such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke if you are not prepared.Heat index values will be in the mid to upper 90s.

If your area has a heat advisory, here is what you should do:

-- Drink plenty of fluids.
-- Stay in an air-conditioned room if possible.
-- Stay out of the sun if outside.
-- Check on the elderly and those extra sensitive to heat.
-- If outside, take frequent breaks and know the signs of heat stroke & exhaustion.
