Named after one of the joint Secretaries to the Treasury in England in
Governor Phillip's time and is often wrongly spelled 'Steel'. It is sometimes
called Shark Point. It contains a battery, comprising 2 gunpits with associated
magazines etc, built in 1871 originally housing 68 pounder Muzzle
Loaders (ML's) to 1894 then replaced by 5 inch Breech Loaders, removed
around 1907.
