Mable Chan is the Founder and Executive Producer at One in a Billion Productions Inc. (501c3), a nonprofit media company she launched in 2017. One in a Billion's mission is to foster Asian storytelling voices in podcasts and films. One in a Billion with Mable Chan is an interview podcast with Asian writers, producers, entrepreneurs, educators, philanthropists, and artists - one person at a time. One in a Billion Productions Inc also invests in documentaries that are Asian-focused or Asian-directed through equity or grants.

Mable's first love is journalism. She recently joined the New York Times as a freelance reporter for the metro desk. She also serves on the board of the AAJA (Asian American Journalists Association) New England Chapter.

Mable is most passionate about mentoring the next generation of journalists and storytellers (Film/TV/podcasts ). She is working on a screenplay and a historical novel and aspires to be a screenwriter/consulting producer in TV/Film.

Previously, Mable was a broadcast network news producer for Good Morning America, ABC News, and Dateline NBC. A recipient of top journalism awards including the George Foster Peabody, the Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia Silver Baton, and the Edward R. Murrow Award for best investigative reporting, Mable believes in the power of film/TV/podcasts to touch hearts and change minds across cultures and borders.

Mable is a Hong Kong-born first-generation immigrant with a Master’s degree in Regional Studies-East Asia from Harvard and a Bachelor’s degree in broadcast management from S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Mable is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin besides English. She is also a yogi, classical piano player, and an aspiring writer.
